Sky's Story: Sky is a German Shepherd, husky mix that was found wandering the streets as a stray or dump. He is approximately 2 years old and was vetted and neutered by BRATS Alliance. He was very timid but came out of his shell around other dogs and he LOVES to play with Ellie Mae. Sky was adopted by his second foster family and will be living his best life with BRATS’ rescue Becca and the house of kids and German Shepards.

Dixie's Story: Was an owner surrender at the age of 17 years old. She was a pit bull mix with an enlarged heart and was in need of medication. She also had some incontinence issues. Dixie continued to live her best life here with us. She loved to go outside and waller and try to keep up with the rest of the pack. She went to the vet every 20-30 days for lab work and her heart medications. She was a happy and spoiled baby for the 10 months we were lucky enough to have her. She will forever be in our hearts, our Dixie Doodle Schmoodle.

Rain & Elli’s Story: . These beautiful babies (both female) were found in the wood line off a busy road. Lucky for them someone saw them and brought them to safety. BRATS was able to quickly get them into foster. Then love happened and the amazing foster adopted them to keep the sisters together.

Mabel’s Story: Mabel was an owner surrender/rehomed dog. We were told she was up to date on vet visits, and in good health. When she was picked up by her new family she was very nervous and was in need of medical treatment right away. Her new adopters had no idea what they were in for when they agreed to adopt Mabel, but they wouldn’t change it for the world. They gave her the love and care Mabel needed and in return Mabel shows them her gratitude with love and kisses.

Maverick 's Story: Maverick was an owner surrender; he was a timid but energetic little boy. He was very little skittish, but he has done well integrating with the other dogs. He was taken to the vet and sadly he had a horrible UTI and crystals that he had for a very long time and will need to be on prescription food for the rest of his life. He was kicked out of 3 vet offices due to his aggressive behavior, apparently, he doesn’t like having his feet or certain parts of him touched. He was able to be neutered but can not return to a vet office without being medicated and muzzled. They say (all 3 vets) that this sweet boy turns into Cujo.

Ellie Mae's Story: This big, sweet baby took 3 days to trap after weeks of being spotted throughout the neighborhood. Ellie Mae was approximately 4-6 years old, a possible Lab/Hound mix that was bred A LOT. She was super skittish and very untrusting. Her eyes were crusted almost shut and she had bad mange. She refused to get in any vehicle and had to be walked back to the house. She is still pending her spaying due to being so untrusting of everyone except us. The last two trips to the vet were very difficult. She had her shots, and her eyes and mange were treated and cleared up. She is such a beautiful soul. She had such a calming effect on another rescue we fostered for a few weeks, we decided that Ellie Mae would become a permanent member of the BRATS household. We believe her personality can help other rescues we take in.
